Absence of Leave for Exceptional Circumstances Form
– Although there is no right to an absence of leave during term time, consideration will be given by the Head Teacher.
Any additional leave of absence will only be granted in exceptional circumstances.
– Days in excess of the agreed period will be marked as “unauthorised absence” and recorded on your child’s school record accordingly.
– Absence of leave will only be granted where children are going away, i.e physically leaving the area, not merely going on day trips or having an absence of leave at home.
Requests will be refused if your child already has a poor record of attendance or if national tests are taking place at the time of the absence of leave.
Any absence of leave taken without prior consultation with the school will be marked as “unauthorised absence”.
My Child At School (MCAS)
We use an online system called 'My Child At School' to send and receive messages from parents. This is also where parents can pay for school lunches, trips etc.
We use the same system to book school clubs and to gain consent for school events, so it is a really important tool for home-school communication. MCAS can be downloaded as an app, or it can be found by searching in Google. Please check MCAS regularly for messages from school.
Free School Meals
Families of children and young people in full-time education at any school maintained by Leicestershire County Council may be entitled to claim free school meals, providing they receive a qualifying benefit.
Information on School Food Support, the providers of school meals, can be accessed via this link. Current menus can also be viewed here:
